Earl Grey Chocolate Shortbread



Ingredients

2 T loose Spice Merchants Earl Grey tea( I also like our Moonlight Earl Grey)

3/4 c. unsalted butter

1/2 sugar

1 t. Tahitian Vanilla

1/4 t. salt

1/2 c. cake flour

1/2 c. all-purpose flour

Glaze:2 oz bittersweet chocolate

1/2 t. vegetable oil

Preparation

1.  butter 9 in removeable tart pan

2. Melt butter over low heat add the tea leaves and let steep 10 minutes

3. Drain the butter through a mesh or cheesecloth to get the leaves out

4. Stir warm butter, sugar, vanilla and salt together. Add the flours just till blended

5. Cover with plastic wrap let chill 2 hours. May chill up to 2 days

6.In oven at 325 bake the shortbread for 35 minutes

7. While it is still hot score with a sharp knife into the size pieces you want

 

Prepare chocolate for dipping by microwaving on high in short intervels,

when almost melted add the vegeatble oil

Dip your pieces and let dry on parchment paper
